There is something so special about getting to photograph the same person through different parts of her life. I originally photographed her graduation photos, so when she reached out and asked me to photograph her engagement session, I was already so excited.

Then she asked me to photograph their wedding too, which was genuinely the sweetest thing. Knowing that she trusted me with her graduation photos, came back for her engagement photos, and now wants me there for her wedding means so much to me. I cannot wait to photograph their wedding in January!

Their Engagement Session at Sholom Park

We chose Sholom Park in Ocala, Florida for their engagement photos, and the greenery gave us such a pretty backdrop for the entire session. It has so many different areas to explore, so we could create plenty of variety without having to drive to another location.

These two were so much fun to photograph together. Their session felt playful, sweet, and completely like them, which made me even more excited to see them again on their wedding day.

Taking Engagement Photos in the Florida Heat

Now, I have to be honest. It felt like 100 thousand degrees outside that day. Florida does not play around during the summer, especially when you are walking around a park for photos.

Luckily, I have invested in more portable fans for my sessions. If you want to take photos at Sholom Park during the warmer months, I definitely recommend bringing a fan, cold water, and anything else that will help you stay comfortable. I will also be showing up with extra fans because looking cute should not require suffering in the Florida heat.

We can also take little breaks whenever you need them. Your session does not have to feel rushed just because it is warm outside.

Planning Your Own Sholom Park Engagement Session

Sholom Park is a beautiful option for couples who want plenty of greenery, open spaces, and different backgrounds throughout their gallery. It works especially well for couples who want their engagement photos to feel relaxed, playful, and full of movement.

If you are considering taking your engagement photos at Sholom Park, we can plan around the best light, choose outfits that work with the location, and make sure we are prepared for whatever Florida weather decides to give us.

I am so excited to celebrate these two again at their January wedding. Being invited back for another important moment in someone’s life will never stop feeling special to me.
