This Fort Island Gulf Beach session felt like a Pinterest photoshoot in the best way. It’s honestly such a hidden gem too. The dress from @emruvio was so good for this location, especially once the wind started catching it and we got her closer to the water.
Rain made us reschedule our original date, and I’m SO glad it did because the light we got on the new date was SO worth it. 😭✨Everything just came together way better than I think it would have the original day.
After the shoot, I also sat down with her and did a little interview about the session and the whole idea behind it, which made this one feel even more fun and different for me.
The Interview I Almost Didn’t Ask For
I was actually SO nervous to ask her if she’d be down to do an interview after the shoot because I had never really done anything like that before and I didn’t want it to feel weird or forced. But asking her ended up creating one of my favorite parts of the entire session, and I’m so glad I did it.
Hearing her talk about the shoot right after we finished, sharing how she felt and what she loved, and watching her reaction in real time made the experience feel even more personal. It also made me realize how much I like hearing people talk about their experience in their own words instead of me always being the one telling the story. Nerves hit me going into it, but pushing myself to try something different brought so much more to the session, and I’m really glad I did it.
So let this be your sign to ask the question and try the idea that makes you a little nervous. You never know what it might add to the experience, and it could easily become your favorite part too.

If you’ve been wanting photos that feel a little more creative and a lot more like something you’d save to your Pinterest board, Fort Island Gulf Beach is such a good hidden gem for it. Bring the outfit, bring the idea, and we can figure out the rest together.
